Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know, before you fly.

Visas, contract checks, FraudShield, fees, and what happens after you click Apply — answered clearly and honestly.

Visas & travel

Work visas, permits, and the paperwork before you fly.

Who handles my work visa?
Your visa is arranged by the licensed recruitment agency handling your placement, together with the overseas employer. HireKenyan360 tracks every stage so you always know where your paperwork is.
How long does the visa process usually take?
Gulf work visas typically take 3–6 weeks from contract signing, depending on the destination country, medical results, and embassy processing times. We share realistic timelines up front — no false promises.
What documents do I need before applying?
A valid Kenyan passport (minimum 18 months validity), your national ID, an updated CV, and — depending on the role — professional certificates, a clean medical report, and a police clearance certificate.
Do I need to pay for my flight?
For most Gulf placements the employer pays for the outbound flight and a return flight at the end of your contract. Any exception is clearly disclosed in your contract before you sign — never after.

Contract checks

How we make sure the contract you sign is the one you actually work.

Who reviews my contract before I sign?
Every contract is reviewed by FraudShield AI against Gulf labour laws and ministry standards, and cross-checked by our human compliance team. You also get a plain-English summary so you understand every clause.
What if my contract abroad is different from the one I signed?
Contact our case officer immediately — do not sign the new version. Contract switching on arrival is a red flag and we escalate through the agency, the embassy, and destination-country authorities where necessary.
Can I get my contract translated?
Yes. Every worker receives their contract in English, and we translate key clauses into Kiswahili on request so you and your family fully understand what you're agreeing to.

FraudShield AI

The AI layer that scans offers, contracts, agencies, and messages.

What exactly does FraudShield check?
It cross-checks employer legitimacy, agency licence status, salary claims against local ranges, contract clauses against labour law, and classic scam patterns (fees, urgency, WhatsApp-only recruiters, unverifiable employers).
Can I use FraudShield on an offer from outside the platform?
Yes — that's exactly what it's built for. Go to the FraudShield page, paste the job ad, contract clause, or recruiter message, and get a verdict in seconds. Free to use.
What does the trust score mean?
A 0–100 score summarising how safe the offer looks. 80+ is safe to proceed with normal verification, 50–79 needs further checks, below 50 usually indicates a scam — walk away and report.

Fees & payments

What HireKenyan360 costs — spoiler: nothing to workers.

Do workers pay to use HireKenyan360?
No. Workers never pay placement fees, application fees, or platform fees. If anyone claiming to represent us asks you for money, it's a scam — report it immediately.
How does HireKenyan360 make money?
Licensed agencies and overseas employers pay for premium features, verified job posting, and compliance tools. Workers are always free.
Are there any legitimate costs before I travel?
Standard costs (medical, police clearance, passport if you don't have one) are the worker's responsibility and are clearly listed up front. Any additional fee must be documented in your contract — never paid in cash on the side.

After you apply

What happens between clicking Apply and starting your new job.

What happens right after I apply?
Your verified profile is shared with the employer and the licensed agency handling the deployment. You'll see live status updates in your dashboard — application received, shortlisted, interview, offer, contract, visa, travel.
How will I hear back?
You'll receive updates inside your dashboard and by email. If shortlisted, the agency will contact you directly — always through the platform record, never on a random personal WhatsApp.
Can I withdraw an application?
Yes, any time before you sign the final contract. Just cancel from your dashboard — no penalty, no pressure.

Support after placement

Because the job doesn't end the day you land.

What support do I get after arriving abroad?
You're assigned a case officer, get 24/7 access to safety support, a family portal so people back home can see you're safe, and an emergency SOS channel for serious issues.
What if my employer breaks the contract?
Report it inside the platform or contact safety@hirekenyan360.com. We work with the agency and destination-country authorities to resolve issues, and we blacklist non-compliant employers from the corridor.
Can my family follow my journey?
Yes — you can invite up to three family members to a read-only family portal that shows placement status, arrival confirmation, and case officer contact details.
